We're in for it - the preview shows hitting, screaming, fighting, and time outs.
It's 6:40am and everyone is awake. Cara and Mady are getting ready for school and the little kids are running around. Jon's trying to get everyone ready to leave the house and Kate's packing the girls' lunch. And during this mayhem, the little kids are hitting each other and getting sent to time out. Finally, the girls get on the bus, Jon leaves for work, and the day begins.
In getting ready for the day, Kate starts out by changing the boys' diapers. The boys have shown no interest in getting ready to use the potty, so she's just hoping they don't go to kindergarten wearing diapers. After changing Aaden's diaper, Kate throws it at Producer Jen. Gross. Jen asks Kate why she thinks that's okay and they laugh together. But I think secretly Jen's wondering why Kate would do something that gross.
Everyone's finally dressed and it's time for breakfast. All the kids are sitting nicely at the table and eating their breakfast. Unfortunately all hell breaks loose when Hannah starts to make a mess and doesn't get to finish her food. I don't really know what she did to deserve time out. All I think she really wanted was dry cereal instead of with milk. Oh well.
The kids decided that it would be super fun to look at the camera equipment and see how it works. The kids had a blast seeing themselves in the monitors and hearing Kate talk to them. So cute.
Finally it was time to play outside! Kate tied 2 of the kids little tykes things together and Collin was having fun taking all the kids around. He pretended he was a bus driver to drive each of the other kids out. Adorable. While all of this was going on, Leah hopped into Kate's lap to read a book. Pretty soon, everyone was all gathered around to read, too. Of course, when everyone was all together, mayhem happened and Alexis went to time out.
When everyone was calmed down, Kate broke out the crayons, stickers, and paper. Everyone got some paper to make a card for Daddy. She let them start to do their own thing so she could run inside to make lunch. Each kid abandoned their card and chowed down on lunch. Unfortunately Alexis and Collin were sitting together and those 2 just don't seem to jive. Perhaps it's because one's wild and the other one wants control. A meltdown ensued but a hug made it all better. After lunch, Collin helped Kate pull all the toys inside and get ready for naptime.
When the girls head into their bedroom for naptime, they decide they want to watch an episode of their own show. Kind of cute.
After naptime, the kids are all outside playing and rush to see Cara and Mady get off the bus. Mady freaks out because Collin had used her jump rope. There was some hitting and screaming and thankfully, Cara jumped in to save the day by offering up her jump rope. Such drama.
Unfortunately, Aaden wasn't feeling so good that day and wanted to just lay down by Kate and be held. She let him lay on the kitchen floor while she was starting dinner. And to help out, Mady was allowed to keep an eye on the kids. She paraded all the kids around the house and then, the shade broke. And in the midst of this, poor Aaden threw up. Kate perched him on the chair to relax and Alexis was so adorable rubbing him and keeping everyone away.
Jon finally pulls into the driveway and the kids run down the driveway to greet him. They are thrilled he's finally home and can't wait to give him their cards. Nothing's ever easy and Mady got upset when the kids gave him their cards without her approval. But the kids seemed happy to have Jon love each of their cards and it was cute.
SassySarah's Space: The kids were super cute and seemed to enjoy having a fun day at home. Plus, there were minimal meltdowns and no one was particularly mean. Two thumbs up.
