Jon & Kate Plus 8 - Cooking with the Twins

Kate signs Cara and Mady up for cooking classes where they learn cooking skills. Meanwhile, the little kids are home sick with the flu.

The girls are learning how to cook. They seem super interested in and since Kate has no time to help her own kids, she thought it would be fine for the girls to learn from someone else.

During this episode, Jon tells us that he's got an eye infection and that now he has to wear his glasses. Kate asks that he wears glasses more often to look smart. How super nice of her.

Jon took the girls to the cooking class and really likes watching the girls interact with the other kids. Kate seems surprised that Jon stays and cares about them. The class seems really fun. Half of the class makes one thing and the other half makes something else. Then at the end they get to share with each other. Seems fun.

Back at home, Kate was taking care of the sick kids. The kids were all sick and laying all over the house getting sick. At this point, the girls were starting to feel better but the boys were starting to get sick. Joel wasn't feeling well and accidentally peed in his pants. He tried to cover it up and was punished. After time in the corner, he apologized and everything seemed fine.

And while during the interview on the couch, Kate interrupted herself and scolded Jon for breathing. Twice. Wow. I have no words.

Leah was just getting over her sickness at this point and was playing it to her advantage. She was well enough to do most things, but when asked for other stuff, she'd play sick. Too funny - we've all done that, too. She had an adorable convo with Kate about some "pudo" clips (poodle clips) for her hair. Oh I could eat that girl up!

Cara and Mady were still at cooking class, so Kate was hanging out with the little kids at home. Well...she was laying in her big chair covered up with a blanket trying to get the kids to rub her feet and back. Is that normal? Alexis did crawl into Kate's lap and chat her up, but Kate didn't seem to be having none of that.

Cooking school's over and Jon arrives to pick up the girls. They seem happy to see him and eagerly show off their creation to him.

The next day we see Kate doing *vomit* laundry. She explains their laundry routine to us, too. Kate does laundry every day. On Thursday afternoons, Miss Beverly comes over to fold all the laundry. Then, on Thursday evenings, Carla stops by to put all the laundry away. And Nana Janet does all the ironing sometime in there, too. So what exactly does Kate do? She puts it in the machine? How taxing. Everyone knows the worst part is the folding and putting away. Oy.

Unfortunately, when Kate goes up to check on Joel, she realizes that he got sick all over his comforter. Kate doesn't seem super happy about this fact and starts to clean him up. And then she bitches about how much laundry she has to do. Oy.

Since Joel isn't *good* at hitting the bucket when he gets sick, so she put him on a blanket on the cold linoleum floor in the laundry room. How incredibly sad. She's not trying to comfort him or at least letting him lay on the carpet. Nope. The cold laundry room floor. Oh, and she closed the door on him without any lights on.

During all of Joel's sickness, the other kids were milling around hoping for an organic lollypop. Hmm...an organic sucker? Really? The kids were thrilled to get the sucker and even shared with each other. Which is probably why they all get sick. Oh well. That's kids for you.

Jon finally got home and went to check on poor Joel. He seems to have a fever and Jon tries to attend to him. At least he moved him from the floor in the bathroom to the bedroom floor. Poor Joel.

During this mayhem, Kate told Cara and Mady that they could bake a dessert with her. The girls seemed happy to be baking at home with Kate and couldn't wait to get to try their creation. Unfortunately, when it came out, the brownies didn't look so tasty. The edges seemed to be a little more cooked, so Kate passed that out to the kids. They seemed happy with it. Apparently Kate didn't bake it right. And now she wants her own show? Yikes.

Joel got sick again, so Kate sent Jon into the bedroom after him to clean up. Now that Jon's home, Kate doesn't feel the need to take care of her kids at all. How sad.

SassySarah's Review: This episode was a complete disaster. Who let's their kids sleep on the cold floor when they are sick. Gross. Two thumbs down.
