Sextuplets' First Dentist Visit
The children spend an afternoon getting their teeth examined.

It's early in the morning, and there's tons of drilling going on. The family's renovating their house to make a new bedroom for Mady and Cara. The day ahead of them is super busy, though. The cleaning lady is over, Bob is busy building stuff in the house, the boys had haircuts and everyone was heading to the dentist. Thank goodness Jon took a day off or else Kate might actually lose her mind.

Aaden's going to through a phase where he *loves* animals and pretends that he's a different animal throughout the day. He has animal books and has fun teaching all the other kids, too.

When getting the kids ready for the day, Kate doesn't seem very happy with the clothing options. Apparently the kids aren't wearing the the *right* outfit for playing, so Kate rushes off to find another option. Oh, the clothing issues. I don't know any other family that has such options.

The first thing to do was to head to the haircutting place for the boys to get their haircut. Collin has a colic in his hair, so they have to keep it long so that his hair doesn't stand up in the back all by itself. Is this the look Kate's going for when she does her own hair in 2009? I thought she didn't like the icky boys? Aaden's sitting in the chair and seems happy that everyone calls him by his animal name of the day. And the barber tells him that he's the first dragon that's ever had his haircut. Aww. Joel is super ticklish and laughs and wiggles through his haircut. So funny. Getting the boys haircut includes Jon, so he hops in the chair before they leave, too.

Since everyone was getting their teeth checked out, the family went in 2 shifts. Jon, Mady, and Cara went first, while the rest of the kids headed to Beth's house to hang out. Probably a good idea that the kids aren't in the waiting room for a long time. Jon seems happy to be at the dentist - it's his Dad's old practice so I bet it brings back some good memories. Mady, however, seems freaked out and doesn't want to be left alone. Unfortunately, Jon can't be with her, he's gotta get his own teeth checked out. She seems happier once they give her some laughing gas to calm down.

Now it's time for Kate to head to the dentist with the remainder of the family. When they arrived, it was decided that they'd see the dentist in pairs of two. Leah decided she wanted to go first and she then picked Joel to go with her. Joel started to get a little nervous, but Leah comforted and held his hand through his entire cleaning. Adorable. Hannah and Collin were next. Collin got a little nervous, but Hannah reassured him by holding his hand.

Aaden and Alexis went last. Alexis seemed a little nervous to go in the chair but calmed down a bit when Aaden went first. The poor girl was so irrational and "thrashulatious" that Aaden didn't stick around to see his sister's teeth get cleaned. Alexis continued to shriek through the exam. Oh my goodness...she would scream and then answer the dentist's questions. It was kind of funny but I felt bad for the poor girl. She clearly hated it. But at one point, she started screaming for her "bankie" and once she got it, she was completely quiet. How awesome was that?

So everyone got their teeth cleaned and only 1 melted down! Definitely a success!
