Jon & Kate Plus 8 - Breakfast in Bed

Jon surprises Kate for Mother's Day.

It's Mother's Day! Jon cooks breakfast in bed for Kate and lets the kids help him get the meal ready. Kate enjoys the day because she can stay in bed guilt free. Jon definitely has his hands full this morning, though. He's got to make breakfast for the kids, get the kids dressed, get Kate's breakfast together, and get himself ready, too.

Jon definitely has his hands full trying to get all the kids to stay away from the bedroom where Kate is sleeping and making breakfast. All the kids want to be with mommy and when they can't be with her, they start to scream.

After all the drama, breakfast was finally ready. Jon got Kate's breakfast on a tray and got all the kids into Kate's room. She seemed happy to have all the kids give her a card. Cara, Mady, and Hannah stayed behind and got to share a little bit of breakfast with Kate. Meanwhile, Jon was corraling all the kids into the dining room for breakfast. Everyone finally got situated and the room got quieter once everyone was eating.

Now that everyone's fed, Jon and Kate get everyone dressed and ready for church. And thank goodness, everyone got out the door to church on time. Which if that was my life, would be a miracle!

A few days later, Kate announces she's going to the spa as part of her Mother's Day present. Hannah flipped out when she realized that Kate was leaving her. In order to placate her, Kate placed a call to Jon and put him on speakerphone for the kids. It was so cute. The kids seemed thrilled to talk to Jon during the day.

Nana Joan arrived just in time to watch the kids so Kate could head to the spa with Beth. The kids did their usual fighting but Nana Janet did an awesome job of mediating them. Kate did announce that it wasn't worth the time and let them argue it out. Um, okay. Alexis wasn't happy that Kate left her and stood in the driveway yelling Mommy Mommy. Breaks my heart. Good thing I don't have kids that cry for me when I leave!!

At the spa, Kate chowed down on a ridiculous amount of food and raved on and on about how great it was. She loves that it's quiet, has good food, and no kids. Seriously? She announced this? Although it's nice that she has time away from the kids, she really goes on and on about how great it is to be away from them.

By the time Kate got home, the kids were thrilled to see her and ran down the driveway to see her. Collin fawned all over Kate's toenail polish and the kids announced she looked "pity." So cute.

SassySarah's Review: Kate acted kind of bitchy through the episode, but this is not super surprising. The kids were adorable. No thumbs up or down.
