Jon & Kate Plus 8 - Gosselins Go Dutch

The family goes to a local amusement park.

It's the morning and Jon's working out. He likes to get up early and work out on the elliptical while watching tv. It seems like a good workout plan. Although Jon says that he was good about working out and then just stopped when he got sick and is trying to get back into it.

The family's heading to Dutch Wonderland, which is a family amusement park. The majority of the rides at the park are meant for little kids. Everyone's getting ready and Aaden announces that on this day he's going to be a lion. So Kate sends her little lion off to get his teeth brushed. In getting dressed, Kate puts numbered shirts on the kids. Each kid gets a shirt with a number in birth order (Cara being #1 and Joel being #8) so that they can keep track of everyone. It was definitely a good idea. Jon was *not* going to wear this shirt, so since he wasn't going to wear his, Kate realized she couldn't wear hers.

A slight parental dispute occured when Cara decided she wanted to wear regular flip flops, but Kate wanted her to wear matching sandals. Jon and Kate argued and Cara flipped out when she had to wear other sandals. Cara keps arguing and finally Kate gave in. Which was shocking because Kate never gives in when it comes to fashion.

Since not everyone went on every ride, Jon and Kate had to figure out who was going to ride and who was going to stay back. Thankfully, Mady and Cara were kind enough to ride with some of the littler kids, too. The kids seemed to love the rides and giggled with excitement on them.

When they got to the Turtle Whirl (which is like Tilt-a-Whirl), everyone but Mady got on the ride. Unfortunately when Kate was on the ride with Hannah, Leah, and Cara, Kate definitely flipped out. She definitely screeched and asked for Jon to help them while she feared that Hannah would puke. And what did she think Jon was going to do? Stop the ride with his sheer strength?

Kate finally decided that everyone, including Mady, was going to ride a truck ride. Once the ride started, she did have a good time and I'm glad for her. She definitely gets upset and needs some extra attention from Jon and Kate.

At lunch time, everyone seemed happy to take a break from the sun and heat and get some food. The kids chowed down and then seemed ready to go for the afternoon. It was time for more rides and everyone seemed excited for this long windy slide. The kids laughed the entire way do. So fun. Collin didn't seem to be having a super fun time and he definitely got a time out but after that, he seemed to cheer up.

The kids all perked up when they saw the jumbo slide. But unfortunately, the littler kids had to ride with Jon, while Kate stayed back with the ones that weren't riding. So Jon made his way up the slide stairs 8 times to go with all the kids. I'm sure by the end of the ride, his legs were burning! I know mine would have been!

Everyone ended the day with a nice relaxing train ride around the park. I always loved those - super relaxing and a great way to cool off and wind down. The cutest moment was when Alexis and Collin put their arms around each other for the ride. So adorable. I could have eaten them up!

SassySarah's Review: Kids were cute and had a fun day. One thumb up.
