MTK

Sunday morning, we woke up and realized that for the first time in months, we didn't have *any* plans.  Usually, we're rushing around and trying to get ready for work, travel home or somewhere else, or just something.  But it was an awesome feeling to know we had absolutely no plans!  So we decided to drive out to Montauk.

It was such a great day!  The weather was a little chilly, but nothing that a fleece couldn't fix.  We had a fun drive out in Rolf the Golf and played with our new satellite radio.  We laughed and chatted about fun things coming up.

The lighthouse was so awesome to see - it was commissioned by President George Washington in 1796!  It's amazing to see that it's stood up to the storms and time.  Unfortunately, we lollygagged too long and it was closed when we arrived.  But we walked around the property and hung out at the beach a bit.

Then we took the ferry across the bay to Greenport for dinner!  (Long Island ends in a fork...Montauk and the Hamptons are on the South Fork and Greenport is on the North Fork.)  We ate at a place called The Frisky Oyster and headed home with a fun day behind us.

Of course, life has been a total whirlwind since Monday...we've been working late and the boss has been grouchy.  But everytime (and there's been quite a few!), I get down at work, I just think of the fun we had on Sunday!

And I'm looking forward to this weekend when we drive home to celebrate Mother's Day with the moms and pick up Greta the Jetta!!!
