Soup and a Surprise
Trying to save time and money, Kate plans to make lots of soup and freeze for the upcoming winter season, but the day doesn't quite go as she expected.

We're watching Kate Gosselin make soup? Seriously. How come there's nothing about the kids in this description?

Kate, with the most awful hairdo ever, tells us that her stove broke. She was doing something on it and set down a cover, which created a vacuum, and broke the glass top of her electric stove. It's a good thing that none of the kids were around when it happened. Although she didn't seemed concerned about them.

On that particular day, Kate was making soups for winter. A chicken noodle soup and a vegetable or "Old Grandma" soup. Of course, she couldn't get anything done until the stove was replaced. So when the new stove came, it didn't look like it was going to fit into the space in the kitchen. Kate was worried that it wouldn't fit. Ummm...wouldn't you measure before purchasing to ensure that it would fit?

Jon jokes that he's going to have to learn a whole new stove. Kate, of course, asks if it's going to be hard for him to walk by it when he's in the kitchen. But Jon reminds her that he uses the over when she's not there to reheat things. Oh right, Kate, that's when you're off on your book tours.

We see the bitch come out when Jon's helping Kate clean up the kitchen. Something she requests him to do all the time. He then repositions the kitchen rug and she gets all mad because she has "open pots" and doesn't want them to be eating dust. I'm sure it's fine. He wasn't shaking it out over the pots. This is just a preview of her mood for the episode.

While Kate was busy cooking, Jon took the kids outside to play with some Play-Doh. He explains that they don't ever play with it inside because it's too messy. (Only allow it in the kitchen?) And since the kids mix all the colors together, they only play with the tubs once and then it's done. That is a *huge* luxury. Because it's expensive and my parents would warn us that if we played with it and mixed them together, we'd have to live with it. Ahh...the life of a Gosselin kid.

It was nice to see Jon play with the kids. He helps them making all the stuff and seems happy when they show him some of their creations. He jokes around with them when he makes a giant booger and sneezes it out. The kids loved it and thought it was funny. But Kate, is horrified and mad. She thinks he is being a child and should act like an adult.

During playtime, Kate comes out to observe what the kids are doing. She determines that there is a lot to clean up and that Jon has a lot to do. Way to be a team player, lady.

Jon cleans up the Play-Doh and sets up the next product placement. A giant bounce house from Playskool. It looks like it costs a fortune. This is *definitely* a product that not every family is going to be able to afford. And really, if the Gosselins are trying to pass themselves off as being a *regular* family...they should stop showing these products. Regular people don't do this.

A fight breaks out when Collin climbs up the slide when they are only supposed to go down the slide. So Collin and Aaden head to time out because they ended up hurting someone else. Poor kids.

Unfortunately, the soup was taking longer than Kate expected because of the stove delay. When Jon and Kate were discussing vegetables in the soup, Kate declared the cauliflower and asparagus are all variations of broccoli. Um, okay.

After naptime, Jon and Kate revealed their big surprise. They're moving into a big house with a big yard. Quite honestly, this announcement seemed a bit forced. Cara asked if it was "for sure" which leads me to believe that they had been talking about this or maybe had a house before. Which is normal, but since Kate wants us to feel like the kids had no idea this was coming, that didn't work out so well.

The new house is going to be better because it's *so* much bigger. The kids talk about their desires to get a dog and have their own room. Mady wants to get a playhouse and have some flowers. Collin wants to know how the house is going to be laid out. Alexis wanted to know if she was going to get her own room again because she wakes everyone up? Leah had a question and before she asked it, she politely wiped her mouth with her napkin. So cute!!

Kate starts to stress out about the moving process because it's not scheduled. She's not looking forward to the packing and unpacking and organizing.
