Jon & Kate Plus 8 - Wild Horses

Wild Horses
Jon and Kate take the children on a tour of wild horses dwelling along the coast and to a lighthouse.

~*~

Everyone's at the beach in North Carolina. Since Jon and Kate had a speaking engagement, they decided to take the kids and make it into a family vacation. Seems nice.

While on vacation, the family is going to get into Jeeps to drive on the beach to see wild horses running around. That sounds like a blast...the kids are going to love it.

Thank goodness Jenny came along with the family because Kate doesn't know what she'd do without her. I mean, my goodness, she'd have dress her own children!

Of course an argument broke out at the Jeep rental place. Kate decided that she was going to organize how the kids would be put into the cars and which kids got which car seats. So after Jon put them in the cars, Kate made him rearrange so the kids would be with the appropriate parent. Hannah, of course, with Kate. I'm glad that the kids were in car seats...that could have turned out to be dangerous.

The beach looked amazing. There were miles and miles of beach. And all you do is just drive around and wait for something fun to happen. Kate stopped the car a few minutes into the tour and ran out to see a jellyfish. Mady and Cara got out of the cars and got excited to see it, too.

The kids got super excited when they saw the horses. I'm sure they got some awesome pictures, too. It looked so beautiful and makes me want to be there so bad!!

No beach trip would be complete without a potty break. Kate jumped out of her car and immediately called for Jon, who was helping the owner fix his car, which had broke down. She didn't seem very happy to have to deal with Joel's potty break and then didn't take responsibility for putting him back into her car either.

(I think I'm in a terribly snarky mood and am just not in the mood for Kate's shenanigan's this evening.)

At one point during the trip, Jon, Kate, Cara, and Mady climbed up a sand dune and looked around. Something noticeably absent was the 6 little kids. How come they weren't allowed out of the car seats? It's a great experience for them. And I thought it didn't matter the toll it would take on them. Apparently that's not the case. I'm sure they wanted to get out and see nature, too. Jon wanted to stay in their area to watch the sunset, but Kate insisted they head back because "the sun sets every day." Nice.

Since they were on vacation, Kate broke down and *allowed* Cara and Mady to get a pet. Hermit crabs. They were each allowed to pick out their own hermit crab. The girls seemed excited to have their own pets and had fun showing them off to their little brothers and sisters. It was cute seeing them play with their own crabs. Mady told her crab to "come to Mama" and it came to her. So adorable.

The last thing for the day is to go on a lighthouse tour. There are a ton of stairs to go up and not everyone seems all that jazzed. Kate started to go up a little bit, but then realized it wasn't for her and went back down with Mady and Hannah. The rest of the family trucked on up the stairs. They all went slow up the stairs and it got a little scary. There aren't a lot of safety guards at the top, so each of the kids had to hold on to a grown up. The kids seemed super stoked to be up there.

The trip down was a little scarier. But everyone went slowly, held hands, and seemed to have fun. Leah and Alexis were holding hands with the tour guide and asked her a million questions. They were so adorable. The girls seemed happy to see Kate at the end of the trip but were happy to be done and looking forward to head back to the house.

SassySarah's Review: Nothing too noteworthy happened, despite Kate's annoying habits. No thumbs up or down.
