Jon & Kate Plus 8 - Oprah Here We Come

Oprah Here We Come
The Gosselin family head to Chicago to meet Oprah Winfrey.

~*~

We're meeting the richest woman alive. Hurray!

Holy cow...the family's going to see Oprah for 1 day and Kate is on a packing rampage. How many things does a person need for an overnight trip? 5 suitcases. Wow!

In a flashback, Jon explains that traveling used to be a massive hassle. They'd have to carry the kids back and forth to the van and they didn't go very far. They'd also have to debate which stroller would be taken on the trip. But the best part was driving to Disney World and making it through. And now, they are so glad that they don't have to worry about strollers anymore.

Now the family is expert travelers and fliers. Their first plane experience was to see Ellen but they really got broken in during the trip to Utah. So when Oprah called, they figured it would be super easy to fly for only 2 hours.

During the packing process, Kate asked each of the kids to pick out their lovies. Each of the kids brought their favorite items and had Kate pack them into the suitcase. I love that they bring their favorite toys. Let's face it...I'm 26 and I still bring comfort items on vaca!

Before the family left for Chicago, Oprah sent these cute baseball shirts for each of the kids to wear. Jon and Kate tried to line all the kids up on the couch so they could say say hi Oprah for the taped intro. Unfortunately, when it came down to it, the kids got shy and didn't yell so loud. Also, before the family headed out, Kate, Mady, and Cara headed off to get their hair cut. Cara's hair turned out so cute, too!

The bus to take the family to the airport arrived. And the best part...Aunt Jodi and Beth are coming along to help, too. Aunt Jodi seems super excited to be going to meet Oprah and got herself all prettied up to meet Oprah, too!

When the family arrived at the airport, they lined up to get their tickets and got through security. Phew. They're safe! And the best way to keep the kids in check...food!! The kids seemed excited to get on the "hairpane" and fly away.

Thankfully everyone behaved and no one melted down in transit.

Unfortunately we saw nothing of Oprah or their appearance on the show. That was a bummer. No one really cared about seeing them prepare for the trip. Oh well.

SassySarah's Review: A whole lot of hype for nothing. No thumbs up or down.
