Jon & Kate Plus 8 - Cara's Day

Cara's Day
Cara picks out new in-line skates and goes rollerblading with her father at a local skating rink.

~*~

This looks like it's going to be a good episode. And something that Cara's going to enjoy.

We start the episode with Alexis holding on to both Jon and Kate and kissing them both on the cheek. So cute and loving!

Cara is looking forward to rollerblading because she loves sports and loves trying new things. She tells us that Kate is coming to watch but she won't be participating. Kate claims it's because she's got 8 kids, but Jon tells us that it's because she's bad at it! haha How come the mom's always get the bad raps? My mom gets one too! lol

Jon was glad that Cara picked rollerblading because it's something that he likes to do, too. Cara is very organized like Kate, but is always super sporty like Jon.

Unfortunately, the show starts with Mady tripping over Hannah and hitting her hard on the leg. I know when you have 8 kids you can't be everywhere all the time, but I think the kids hit a lot. And it seems to go unpunished.

All the little kids are going to hang out at Aunt Jodi's for the day. But before they leave, Cara, Mady, Aaden, and Collin play a make-believe game which looks really fun.

At this point, Mady had already had her special day and was having some jealousy that Cara was having her special day. Plus, Mady wasn't looking forward to the fact that she was being lumped with her little brothers and sisters. Before leaving, Mady asks Kate about what she considers an "accident". She then asks if poking someone with a pencil is an accident. I think this is a serious cry for help that her parents are just completely ignoring.

Jon and Kate took Cara to Dick's to pick out a new pair of rollerblades. She seems to have fun trying all the pairs on and testing them out. Kate seems happy to just have 1 kid to look after. When Cara decides she's ready to go, Jon and Kate take her to a roller rink where she can skate around. Once she gets out onto the rink, she seemed to really take to it right away. Kate hung around in her shoes and took lots of pictures. It was awesome that they all seemed happy and were having fun together.

Cara is the oldest of the 8 kids. She was born with a hemangioma (sp?). It broke up when she was little and there's no sign of it. Looking at her baby videos, she looks the exact same. So cute! Cara is described at the kind and creative big sister. Everyone likes Cara. But she does tend to keep her emotions inside and when she blows, everything comes out all at one time.

Back at Aunt Jodi's the kids are playing in their usual fashion. Mady looks like she's having fun playing with her cousins. Aunt Jodi decided that it was warm enough to play outside for a little bit, too. All the kids drag the bikes, these funny walking shoes, and any other toy they can get their hands on. Aunt Jodi even helped them trace their hands and bodies on the driveway in chalk. I always loved doing that when I was little! Although I'm surprised that Kate didn't freak out with them getting chalk on their clothes.

At the end of the day, Jon went to pick up the kids and Aunt Jodi said that it wasn't a good day. The kids put a whole in the basement wall and Aaden's glasses broke. Yikes. Poor Aunt Jodi. That's not fun and I'd be mad if my nieces and nephews did that to my house! But it's also something kids to, too. Oh well. Good thing she's so understanding.

SassySarah's Review: Cara looked like she really enjoyed her day with her parents. Two thumbs up.
