Jon & Kate Plus 8 - Games Gosselins Play

Games Gosselins Play
Mady and Cara show the different games the family plays together.

~*~

Aw, I love seeing the family do fun things together.

Mady and Cara are narrating this episode and are talking about all the games that they play. From the sounds of it, they are super imaginative and play all kinds of make believe games, as well as hide & seek and duck, duck, goose.

A big thing that Mady and Cara like to do is play preschool. They try to teach all their brothers and sisters how to recognize their colors and letters. They have arranged these school desks in the extra room and have taped name tags to each desk. Unfortunately, all the kids aren't into being into playing, because some of the little kids leave "school" and head out to see mom and dad.

All hell broke loose when the kids refused to pay attention and Leah got pushed onto the ground. So Jon decided that it was time for recess and herded the kids outside to play.

Once everyone was outside, everyone got their favorite toy and started to roam around. Jon got his roller blades on and skated away with Cara frantically trying to follow him. Thank goodness the little kids didn't try to go after him either. He had gotten a far distance away. Of course, Kate didn't let him forget it and screamed for him down the street. Come to think of it, I might have heard her shrill voice the other day. Kate was a really great example for her kids, though. Because when she was screaming for Jon, all of the other kids started screaming for him at the top of their lungs, too.

While everyone was playing outside and having fun, Kate was busy organizing the garage. She seemed particularly anal about this and definitely started ordering Jon around and complaining about how small the house is for them. Jon was having none of it and told her to leave him alone while he was playing with the kids. The bickering was awful and not something they should be doing in front of the kids. Poor things. I hate when people argue in front of me. And it's worse when it's my parents.

The insessant bickering continued for awhile and it really didn't make for great parenting. Especially when the kids were melting down and fighting with each other.

Best line ever from Mady:
"Mommy's making lunch now, but she just sat in the chair and gave orders to Daddy. She's like queen bee. Except Daddy doesn't really do what she says."

It's finally time to play a game! The first game is duck, duck, goose. The kids seemed to have fun playing. Some of them *got* it and some of them just had fun running around the circle. I have to say that it's awesome that they are their own game. And that there's enough of them to play a big game like that. My family only has 4...we're a horrible duck, duck, goose family!

The next game is hide & seek using the whole house. Everyone started hiding (no attic and no closets) and Jon was going to seek them. It was cute to see the little kids try to hide. Some of them did a good job and some of them just stood behind a large object. The best part was watching the kids hide and jump out before Jon *seeked* them. Poor Alexis was given away by Hannah. Her spot under a pile of blankets was awesome.

The tables were then turned and Cara and Mady were going to seek out the family. Jon decided hide in the front closet. Which seems unfair considering Kate gave them explicit instructions to avoid the closet. Is that cheating? Of course, Cara and Mady searched and searched. But Jon was no where to be found. After a little bit, they definitely started to get worried and wondered where in the world he could have be hiding. Joel thought he was to work or else went hiding in the garage. lol Eventually they found him and were elated to find him.

After the games were over, the kids headed up to the bath. With some well placed advertisements, the camera then showed the poor things in the bathroom. Can't they leave them alone in there?!?! The kids do have super cute bath towels with animal heads on them.

Once they kids are sparking clean, their teeth are brushed and then they get tucked into bed.

Cara and Mady declare game night a success and had a lot of fun together.

SassySarah's Review: I'm not over that awful bickering and showing of the kids in the bath. Two thumbs down.
