Jon & Kate Plus 8 - Memorial Day Picnic

Memorial Day Picnic
Jon and Kate plan an all-day trip for the whole family.

~*~

It was going to be a typical Sunday. The family was going to go to church, head to the park and a special treat of ice cream for dinner.

Since they were going to be gone all day, Kate had to pack stuff for everyone. So Jon had the usual duties of feeding and dressing the kids. He gave the little kids their usual cereal and Mady and Cara got a bagel. Alexis didn't think this was fair and started asking for a bagel. When no one responded to her, she just said it louder and louder. So she got send to the corner.

Leah got sent to the corner for pinching Hannah. She seemed so sad sitting there, so Aaden walked over and gave her a hug and brought her a bear. It was so cute.

Before they left, Kate started to do the girls' hair. Hannah didn't seem so happy to have her hair brushed and no that there was food in it, she screamed. Oh why don't they cut it or take better care of it?

The family finally got to church and after a potty break, Jon and Kate dropped the kids off at their Sunday school room. The kids didn't seem to like being dropped off and completely melted down. Everyone insisted on one more hug and kiss. And Leah seems to get so upset that she almost made herself vomit. Poor girl. It probably doesn't help that Kate got pissed off that they wanted more hugs from her, too.

After church, all the kids seemed happy to see their parents and proudly showed off their projects. Alexis spilled the beans on their surprise Mother's Day present, but Leah quickly shushed her. Too funny.

It was time to head to Cocoa Castle which was a large wooden playground. Everyone would get to eat lunch and then it would be time to play. Trying to find a picnic spot was such a pain in the ass. Kate couldn't figure out what she wanted and then bitched with Jon about where they were going to sit. Cara and Mady didn't want to sit with the rest of the family and Kate let them sit somewhere else. Doesn't that defeat the purpose of a family picnic?

Kate realized that eating on a blanket was a bad idea, so they picked everything up and went to picnic tables. Which was probably a better idea. The kids chowed down on their *organic* peanut butter and fluff. They ate enough to make mom happy and then they ran into the playground.

The playground seemed kind of fun. The kids loved running around in the whole thing and getting to do a bunch of fun stuff. Jon ran around with them and made sure they didn't get lost. Kate sat herself on a bench and watched. It was nice to see Cara play with the kids and make sure that they got down the slide safely. I'm glad that she loves them and makes sure they have fun.

After running around, the kids decided to go on the swings. How in the world Jon is able to push every one of them simultaneously is beyond me. It's quite impressive. After swinging for awhile, it was time to leave and head to their favorite ice cream place.

It was a big deal because this time each of the kids were able to eat out of their very own dish. Of course, Kate had to put bibs on them, but they did eat on their own. The cutest part of the episode happened when Aaden's bib blew behind him and he determined that he was a super hero. So adorable.

After the kids were done with the ice cream, they had some serious sugar to burn off and started running around this grassy area they had. Kate didn't seem to happy about this because the kids were getting dirty. So awful. And Mady even challenged her mom. She asked why Kate couldn't just let them have fun. Too funny.

While just hanging out at the ice cream place, the kids started playing a make-believe game. It seems like they were trying to run away from alligators. So adorable.

It was finally time to go home. When they got home, everyone had a bath and brushed their teeth. When drying Leah off and getting her ready for bed, she looked right at Jon and said "why do little girls have little boops?" I almost died laughing. Jon kind of froze and told her to ask Kate. So funny.

The kids had fun playing around for a little bit. The boys were playing trucks and got a little out of control. The girls, however, were having a grand old time. Mady and Cara were playing with Hannah's horse and then they realized that she was having a baby. They gave her some oxygen and threw a blanket over it and then a baby popped out! So imaginative! I love kids sometime.

SassySarah's Review: The kids had a blast and were so fun. Two thumbs up.
