The Gosselins renovate their house; new changes in sleeping arrangements made.

When Jon and Kate moved into the house, they decided to change the attic into a bedroom for Cara and Mady. So it's finally time for the renovations. Which means that Cara and Mady are going to move into a new room and the little kids are going to get split boys and girls.

The hired some friends/contractors to help them start on the renovations. Kate didn't seem so happy about all the distractions, the pounding, and oh my the dirt, but she figured it was worth it for the ultimate outcome.

Since Cara and Mady's room was being renovated, they had to move downstairs to the basement for a few days. The seemed stoked to have a new fun room.

Since Kate can't watch the kids on her own, Carla came over to help her wrangle everyone. Carla spent the time watching the kids and Kate did all the household chores.

No one really likes all the construction work at the house, so the kids and Kate seemed a little disoriented with life.

Now that the kids are all moving rooms, the little kids are getting big kid beds. So the entire family packs up and heads to the furniture store. (Note: During the getting ready phase of the day, Kate seemed to be trying to get lunch together and dictated that Jon hop to her every whim. And then she proceeded to berate him in the interview chair. Yikes.)

Before leaving for the store, everyone sat down for lunch and both Jon and Kate freaked out when Joel teased them saying that he was a girl. You could tell he was kidding around but they seemed to get really upset. I've also noticed that they push gender roles down these kids throats like crazy. Weird.

Finally, they're at the furniture store. The kids seemed to be excited to have an adventure in the store. They excitedly tell the salesman that they are there to get big kid beds. So cute. Everyone heads to the bunk beds and tests them out. The kids seemed to enjoy bouncing around the beds at the store. Cara and Mady found the water beds and fell in love. Oh, I don't blame them one bit.

Kate originally wanted 4 sets of bunk beds all the same but then realized that she couldn't find any "gender neutral" sets. So her decision got increasingly difficult. And she, of course, retreated into her choices and ignored the kids. So Jon had to make sure the kids didn't get hurt or completely destroy the store. And he also had to help Kate make a decision. It wasn't going so well.

Meanwhile, Collin was having some issues with pooping, so Jon took him outside. The poor guy just kept calling for Mommy, too. And Kate just completely ignored her child. Nice. After Jon took Collin outside, Kate let the rest of the kids run around while she fretted and fretted over which beds to choose. These are beds. And she probably should have thought this through *before* she got there.

Kate *finally* purchases beds and the family heads out. I'm sure the store breathed a sigh of relief. Because the viewers all did.
