Plane Ride to Utah
Jon and Kate pack up their family of 10 for a winter vacation.

The Canyons Resort in Park City, Utah invited the Gosselins out to visit. Look out Utah. Here they come.

So it's time to start packing and getting everyone ready. So Kate started with the little kids' backpacks they got for Christmas. They are super cute with their names on them. Mady was upset that she didn't have one but there's not really anything you can do about it. Although I think Kate could have handled that situation a bit better. And then she did something surprising. She got duck tape and put it over every part of the kids' names on the bags, except for their first initial. It was so that no stranger could lure them away by calling their name. Which is a good idea in theory. But because they are on tv and millions know their names, at this point, it probably doesn't matter if their names are covered.

Jon seemed happy to go on this trip. He's been snowboarding his entire life so this is a good opportunity for him to get back out there. And Kate...well she wants to got to the spa.

Kate was frantically trying to pack and because she was taking their winter clothes, it seemed like they were bring a lot of stuff. Winter clothes seem more bulky than summer clothes by nature of the season. So I have no idea how they logistically get all those suitcases around. I'm sure the production crew pitched in.

In yet another money grabbing showcase, the kids were given winter jackets. They're super heavy ski coats and they also have a thing that you can cut so when the kid grows, the jacket will, too. Pretty nice.

It's finally time to leave and everyone's up super early in the morning. Everyone gets their backpacks and their coats on. And then the limo comes to take them. Only the Gosselins would have a limo take them to the airport.

Beth and Kayla traveled with the family because it would be too much to ask Jon and Kate to take care of their own brood. So everyone met up at the airport and got their bags checked. Can you imagine trying to get *all* of those bags through? Ugh. After they get through checking the bags, Kate herds everyone to the bathroom. I didn't think that it would take them that long to get through security but they didn't want to risk having to have a potty emergency while in security.

Security seemed relatively painless and once they got to their gate, it was time for breakfast. Everyone seemed content to eat their breakfast and walk around in a new place. The kids were excited to see the plane and couldn't wait to get on their plane.

It was finally time to board and since there are tons of kids, everyone gets to get on first. Thank goodness they were at the back of the plane and took up most of the seats there. Can you imagine having to sit near that madness? That's enough to make me want to jump out without a parachute!

The kids seemed happy to play with their stuff and walk around the back of the plane. But in the last hour of their 8 hour flight, the kids are starting to melt down. Everyone's getting antsy and no one wants to sit anymore. But due to weather, the airport was closed and the plane was redirected to Boise. Oh my goodness - can you imagine? But the best part of the trip came when Kate melted down and just screamed that she was done. I don't think that I have *ever* seen my mom melt down like that. Never. She always keeps her cool and makes sure that we're okay. So Kate melting down, just made it all the worse for everyone else. And Mady ended up comforting Kate. Um, not cool.

14 hours later, the family *finally* landed in Utah.

After landing, everyone waited for the rental car to come pick them up. And while standing there, Kate decided that their next trip was going to be to Hawaii for a remarriage. Hmm...I think this happens, too. I had no idea that you could just suggest stuff and then it comes true. I'll have to start hinting at stuff like this!

The house the family was staying in was amazing. It was a huge resort house with a ton of bedrooms. So beautiful. Perhaps one day I'll get back there.

SassySarah's Review: Seeing Kate melt down kind of just ruined it for me. And the fact that I didn't need a half hour of the family getting ready for a trip. Just show that in the first 5 minutes of their hour-long show. One thumb down.
