Sounds like we have the makings for a super fun day!
It's 6:50am and everyone had to get up and get ready for a day at the Pittsburgh zoo. The kids seem excited to get up and see all the animals. Aaden especially loves animals and can't wait to see camels. Because the zoo is about 3 hours away from their home, they had to get ready early.
It was quite a lot of work to get everyone dressed, fed and packed to get out the door. Quite frankly I'd be exhausted by the time everyone got in the car!
The zoo people had a tram set up for the family so they could be shuttled everywhere. It turned out to be a great thing for the family so that they didn't need to walk all over. But before they even left the gate, the kids kind of melted down in trying to figure out who sat where.
The family got to drive by some zebras. The kids were excited to see them and Aaden declared the zebras as mine. So cute.
Henry, the zookeeper, took them on a guided tour and they got to see some cool things that not everyone got to see. So their first stop was to see some giraffes. The zookeeper was super nice and let the family get to feed them some branches. The kids seemed thrilled to be able to feed some leaves. So cute.
Next, the kids got to head to the gorilla exhibit. I always love seeing gorillas because they are so huge and just seem so much like humans. Apparently the Pittsburgh zoo gorillas mooned the Gosselins.
No zoo trip would be without seeing elephants and tigers. Aaden was fascinated by all the animals and spent virtually the entire day with Henry. It was awesome.
A cool thing the family got to see was the penguin exhibit. They got to pet one of the penguins too and each of them seemed so happy to do it. Alexis was so excited and petted the penguin so gently. She seemed so so happy. Before the left the penguin house, each of the kids and Kate got to stick their head in and see the water. Looked so fun!
Next, everyone headed into a polar bear exhibit. You get into this tube and the polar bears swim all around you. They look so beautiful. Cara got super excited and you can see her just looked thrilled that a polar bear was right there next to her.
Finally, everyone headed into a crocodile house and Alexis was just out of her mind with excitement. She got to pet the croc and seemed so happy with him. So so fun.
SassySarah's Review: The kids seemed thrilled to see all the stuff the zoo had to offer. One thumb up.
