A church in Fresno wanted to fly the family out to speak but Kate didn't think that it would reasonable to take the 2 year olds, but that they could manage with Cara and Mady. Susan, a good friend, is going to take Hannah and Leah, while Beth is going to take Alexis, Collin, Aaden, and Joel. So Jon and Kate definitely have a ton of work to do before leaving - everything has to be packed for the kids, along with all of their stuff. Although Kate was definitely "hounding" Jon while he was trying to get everything packed.
The first stop was to drop 4 kids off at Beth's house. The kids seem thrilled to be able to run around Beth's big house, but they are getting upset with her dogs. Should be an interesting few days. Next, they drop off Hannah and Leah at Susan's house. The girls seem a little shy but this Susan lady seems nice. And we never see her after this episode either...I wonder if the girls did her in...
Now that everyone is gone, Jon and Kate take advantage of having a quieter house and have their lawyer come over to finish their will. The obvious question is where the kids are going to go if something happened to them. It sounds like they have 2 people who are willing to take all 8 kids together. That's awesome because taking in 8 kids all at once is crazy!! Jon and Kate get into bit of an argument about when they would inherit all of their money - at the completion of college or at age 30. I think Kate was being super stubborn and insistent on controlling the kids from the grave. Oh let's hope this never happens.
Jon, Kate, Cara, and Mady are in California now and they are taking advantage of some sight-seeing. The first thing the family did was to go to some random orange grove and take pictures. There was a large sign that said no trespassing or picking so Kate and the girls had to put all the oranges they picked up back on the ground. Oy.
When they got to Sequoia National Forest, Kate's screeching was at an all-time high in her excitement to see the large trees. It looks beautiful and amazing, but the woman didn't have to yell and screech. Even Mady asked her mom why she was screeching. It looks like they got some amazing pictures of the girls in the trees. But didn't they miss the other 6 kids that weren't there? Unfortunately, Mady had some drama and then Jon compared Mady to Kate...so true.
Before leaving the park, Kate sent Jon on a mission to get 8 pinecones. But what she didn't realize is that you can't take things out of national parks. Oy. Some drama ensued when a stolen pinecone got away, but Jon saved the day, again, and retrieved it.
Now it was time to get to business and the true reason for getting to California, the speech. Before they headed to the church, Jon and Kate went over their questions to be sure they were prepared. But once onstage, they seemed comfortable and at ease answering all the questions. There wasn't anything that we haven't already heard but still seems like a good experience.
Back at home, Aaden and Collin were having some issues with Beth's dogs. Poor kids really didn't like the dogs. Aaden, however, found this cute hat at Beth's house and insisted on wearing it. So adorable!
SassySarah's Review: So the family got a free trip. I wasn't super impressed. No thumbs up or down.
