Back to School
Jon and Kate prepare for the twins to return to school and for the sextuplets to begin preschool.

All the kids are off to school...I can't believe they're old enough!

Since Jon and Kate have crazy schedules, they don't have time to do an interview together. So each of them are sitting on the interview couch alone. It's surprising that the they don't have time. They work at home!

The kids have to get ready for preschool and that starts with their doctor visit. Usually Jon and Kate takes them in groups of 3s, but they figured it would work out better to take all the kids at one time. Look out doctor, Kate Gosselin's on the prowl.

When at the doctor, all the kids got weighed. And to avoid confusion, Kate insisted on doing everything in birth order. So it always goes Alexis, Hannah, Aaden, Collin, Leah, Joel. Always. Stay tuned, because I feel that's going to cause some issues. After everyone got weighed, Kate gets upset that Collin weighs less than Hannah and insists the nurse weigh him again. This is mean and I'm sure I should be saying this about a kid...but Hannah appears to be heavier than Collin. She doesn't look like she's over weight, bu if you take Collin and then take Hannah, she's kind of got a belly on her. The nurse re-weighs Collin and he's the same. After getting weighed, the kids gets their blood pressure taken.

Kate doesn't let the kids put on the gowns. She said that it'll be too much work to get them undressed and into gowns, so they wear clothes that are easy to deal with (ie: girls in dresses). I guess this is okay, but aren't the kids old enough to be able to get themselves reasonable dressed and undressed? They're 4 and a half!

While waiting for the doc to come in, Alexis hits Aaden in the stomach. Aaden says "ow ow" and Jon tells him to stop and it's "nothing". Kate, rightly so, says that "no, [they] don't hit." Oh these kids.

The doctor makes her way in and they start with Leah, who was complaining about her ears. She ended up having swimmers ear, which was probably related to all the swimming she just did in Hawaii. Then the doc started the exam and went through all the kids. The bothersome part for me was that Kate allowed the cameras into the doctor visit. Can't these kids have any privacy? What's next? Her visit to the OB-GYN? Ick.

Joel was the last kid to get checked out by the doctor. He didn't seem happy that he was the last kid to get checked out. Since Kate insists on birth order, he always goes last. As Kate noted, she should do reverse order. Yup...let the kid got first for once!

Another thing that baffled me was that when asked, Kate didn't know how everyone did. They are your children. You were in the doctor appointment with them. And you don't know the state of their health? Seriously?

It's a school day and since the kids don't go until the afternoon, Jon, Kate and the kids play outside in the morning. First the get to play with these Tonka trucks. Way to go product placement. The kids have fun playing with them and chased them all over the driveway.

Joel seems to be a really good bike rider, so Jon took off Joel's training wheels. They headed into the street and he flew! He seemed so proud of himself to be the first kid to ride without training wheels! What a great job he did! Since Joel was successful, the other kids decided that they wanted to try, too. Everyone else tried, but no one else could do it. Leah seemed really upset that she couldn't do it. Poor girl - she wanted it so bad.

Everyone was having such a fun time, they didn't realize that it was time to leave for school. Since preschool is an hour away, they had to hurry to get ready. Everyone got dressed and ran to the car. They almost forgot their bookbags, too! They have the cutest bags, too - little dogs and cats. But Kate's right, you can only have those bags in preschool!

The kids got to school on time and we got to see a bit of their classroom. They seemed like they enjoyed being there and no one melted down. Preschool rules are red, yellow, and green. If you're good all day, you get green. A warning means yellow. And if you just completely misbehave, you get a red. The kids have only gotten 2 yellows: Collin and Alexis. Collin's paper fell on the floor and Alexis stomped on it. So Collin punched her. Aw. Kate's happy that they've only been mean to each other and not other kids. Well, I guess that's okay...shouldn't we aim to not have anyone be mean? I guess it happens when you're always with your brothers and sisters. Too funny.

At the end of the show, Kate says she can still see a baby when she looks at them. But Jon likes that they're old enough to do things on their own and living life.

SassySarah's Review: I can't believe I've been watching the family this long. But they are so cute and seem to be excited to try new stuff. Two thumbs up.
