We just learned a good friend is undergoing chemotherapy for the second time, after her breast cancer returned.
She had surgery, radiation, and chemo starting in November 2009. In January 2011, she was told she could be done with treatments and looked forward to a cancer-free 2011.
The angry and devastating beast came back again in February. Literally her first post-treatment checkup revealed another tumor.
My friend is 29 years old. She has no family history. She has tested negative for the breast cancer gene. She is healthy and active and does not live near any sort of "cancer" clusters or radiation areas.
Why does she have to have this happen to her. Again.
Cancer - I hate you. Please go away and leave this world alone. And if you don't, be aware that we are going to defeat you. One way or another, we will win this war.
