Today I remember a guy I knew in high school. He wasn't the coolest kid but he was funny and compassionate and kind. Sometimes in art class he bugged me, but he was always interested in what everyone was doing.
During our senior year, Brian passed away due to complications from AIDS. Brian was a hemophiliac and contracted AIDS during a blood transfusion in the 80s.
So today on World AIDS Day, I hope Brian knows that I'm thinking of him.

I'm sure he does. I've never known anyone close to me affected with Aids.
